Meet the Team
David Gregory CBE
Chief Executive Officer / National Leader of Education
Formerly CEO of The Partnership Trust, leading its growth from formation through to creation of The Bath and Mendip Partnership Trust.
With substantial experience of senior leadership in both mainstream and special schools, David led Fosse Way School to ‘outstanding’ status through four inspections and National Support school status. David has worked for the National College of School Leadership, The Department for Education Implementation and Review Unit as well as Department for Education working parties; delivered leadership programmes nationally and internationally; sat as a Trustee of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and was Chair of the National Steering Group for Special Schools.
David also founded a successful free school in response to demand from parents in the Mendip area of Somerset as well as one of the first teaching schools in England, which now engages with staff from over 150 schools each year.
In 2010 David was awarded the CBE for services to national and local special education.
Director of School Improvement
Formerly, Director of Learning at The Partnership Trust, and having spent a number of years as a member of the Senior Leadership Team at a church school, a Deputy Head at a large, successful primary school and as a Primary Consultant with the Local Authority, Sarah has extensive experience at supporting schools to make improvements to practice and outcomes.
Sarah has a wealth of experience in providing high quality training, with particular specialisms in maths, assessment, data analysis and leadership.
Suzy has over 20 years’ experience as a Business Manager, within school settings, single and multi-academy trusts and held the role of Business Director within The Partnership Trust.
With extensive experience in HR processes and procedures, leading on large capital projects, estate management, administration and catering, Suzy has led academy conversions in a number of schools as well as supporting leadership in the opening of a free school and during inspections. Suzy provides support to School Business Managers and delivers training on middle leadership programmes.
David’s focus as Executive Principal within the Trust is supporting well-being, in particular working with Trust Headteachers.
In addition to over five years’ experience as an Executive Principal of a MAT, David has over 46 years’ experience as a teacher including over 30 years’ experience as a Headteacher with headships of four primary schools including community and church schools with pupil numbers ranging from 90 to 600 and those in less advantaged communities. David has wide experience supporting school improvement on behalf of the Local Authority and supporting school leaders in challenging circumstances, with a proven track record of such support leading schools to making sustained progress. David also holds leadership of the NCSL networked learning community.
Senior Executive Headteacher
Sue is Senior Executive Headteacher at the Trust and Head Teacher of Nunney First School.
With over 20 years’ experience and success in supporting schools to move out of Special Measures and 15 years’ experience as a Headteacher within schools with widely differing demographics, Sue has a detailed knowledge and practical experience of curriculum design and expertise in drawing teams of people together in a strong school improvement agenda. She has supported Local Governing Bodies to be highly effective, critical friends with a detailed understanding of their accountability for furthering school improvement.
Senior Executive Headteacher
With experience of teaching and leading in both mainstream and special schools nationally and internationally, Emily has a specific interest in curriculum design, autism research and how to support learners with additional needs to make outstanding academic and social progress.
Emily is the Executive Headteacher of Fosse Way School and The Mendip School, leading the successful opening of The Mendip School as a new school for 120 children with autism and Fosse Way School through outstanding Oftsed inspections in both the school and residential setting.
Emily delivers training to mainstream and special needs colleagues on a variety of subjects including SEN and behaviour as well as leadership courses for teachers, assistant heads and deputies. She also works with outreach teams to support mainstream colleagues in working with children with autism and challenging behaviour.
The Bath and Mendip Trust Executive Team are supported by a well-qualified and experienced administrative team. Whilst being based at the central offices, the team spend time in all of the Trust schools and pride themselves on having outstanding working relationships with their colleagues within the schools.
